Mr. Darwin J. Bruce is a business leader, author, speaker, and attorney. Mr. Bruce is the President and CEO of Capital Market Ventures, a strategic business advisory services company located in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Bruce has been honored by the Dallas Business Journal as a “Forty under 40” honoree, which recognizes the top 40 business executives and entrepreneurs under the age of forty in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 2009, he was a recipient of a Distinguished Alumni Award from SMU Dedman School of Law. Mr. Bruce was also featured in D CEO Magazine in 2010. He is also the author of a book titled, “The Map to Entrepreneurship.”

Mr. Bruce works with entrepreneurs, business executives, and other leaders in their quest to manage all of the matters affecting corporate structure, strategic planning, and operations of their organizations. He has been a guest speaker at events in the United States and abroad. Common topics presented in speaking engagements include leadership, entrepreneurship, strategic business development and planning, business management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate compliance.

Mr. Bruce is the Chief Operating Officer for The Potter’s House of Dallas, Inc. He is responsible for managing all of the business affairs for the organization and its affiliated entities. In addition, Mr. Bruce serves as Chairman of the Metroplex Economic Development Corporation. The Metroplex Economic Development Corporation initiates and manages various projects designed to advance economic development.

Mr. Bruce has experience in all phases of business organization and management. He has served as Chief Executive Officer for an electronics manufacturing and service company in Dallas, Texas. He has also served as a Senior Vice President for finance and private equity companies, ELK Fund and Medcare, Inc. These companies maintained a private equity division as well as a financial services division.

As a Senior Vice President, Mr. Bruce managed the portfolio of private equity companies including related mergers and acquisitions. He also established management teams for health care services and finance companies, their subsidiaries, and affiliates. He was responsible for all aspects of company structure and operations. He handled complex financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities matters, employee relations, general commercial transactions, corporate compliance, and other related business matters.

Mr. Bruce received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. He serves on the Executive Board of Directors of Southern Methodist University School of Law, Board of Directors of the Dallas Division of the American Heart Association, and on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Dallas/Fort Worth Division of the Salvation Army.
